Wow those adverts certainly bring the memories rushing back i was born in Carbrooke in the mid 40’s and left in 1959 to see all those o so familiar names , fantastic , thank you . When we lived in Mill Lane Carbrooke we very often had R A F personnel lodging with us . i also remember the coke dump on the Eastern end of the drome catching fire it burnt for days . there was a rumour went round that there were some American B36s (?????) on the base and one of the ground crew was killed when he walked backwards into the props which were mounted on the rear edge of the wing
