In May 1989, Jim Agerton and Wiley Noble both returned to Watton on a 3rd SAD reunion tour. They found time to sit and talk with Nell Horn in her back garden about themselves and their time at Watton.

28 minutes 15 seconds into this video Wiley tells the story of a goat purchased from Watton market – this is Ray Dorman from Weymouth, Massachusetts who served with 3rd SAD and the goat! – Thanks to Ray’s son Jim whose comments are below.

  1. What an absolutely priceless video of memories ! What a generation ! Thank you for keeping these connections and history a live. Jim’s memories of the Mobile Reclamation Unit are fascinating.
An amazing archive, keep up the great work, would love to add my research on Cpt Richard (Dick) Wright, when finished ?

  2. I have pictures of my Dad and his buddy with the goat. He was stationed at RAFWatton during the same time and might have known these guys. He and my mother attended the 3rd SAD Reunion in 1994.
